About contin community trust

Contact us

The Contin Community Trust is a charity organisation which was formed in 2007 to provide for the management and maintenance of Contin community facilities. The focus of the Trust has evolved from maintaining the old hall to the funding, designing, and building of our new Contin Community Hall.

Now that the new hall is complete, the Trust’s focus is the management and maintenance of the hall and developing and supporting the community activities which will utilise the hall.

The present Trustees are: Jackie Schiller and Gemma Monckton (co-chair), Alison Cheyne (Treasurer), John Schiller, Lynne Williamson, Maureen Mackenzie, Patricia Schelle & Derek Penfold.

Support the trust

Contin Community Trust was incorporated under the Companies Act 1985 on 6 June 2007. CCT is a limited company and is governed by the Memorandum of Association and Articles of association. The company has had charitable status from 19th August 2009.

We now have a full set of Trustees – but the hall is a community asset, and we would much appreciate your support. As a member of the Trust you will have a chance to have a say on major plans for the new  hall and the old hall/school house at any General Meetings. Plus – importantly – provide moral support to the trustees who give up considerable amounts of time to make the hall run smoothly.

Membership applications are open to anyone 18 and over who is resident in the Contin community area – this includes Jamestown and Tarvie. Directors can refuse membership if they reasonably feel the member may reflect badly on Trust, or if they expect disruption to the meetings of the Trust.

With agreement of the 2023 Annual General Meeting the Trust is moving to a system of annual confirmation of membership by the members. If you would like to apply as a member please email us on newcontintrust@gmail.com with the subject line “CCT Membership” and your name and address in the message.

Membership reminders will be sent annually together with the notification of the Annual General Meeting.

If you do not renew your membership, we will delete your personal data in accordance with GDPR. If you move away or otherwise want your personal data removed, contact us on newcontintrust@gmail.com
